About

Built by a Raleigh son who knew the gap firsthand.

The Nate McMillan Foundation exists to empower young men who have experienced fatherlessness — with tools, values, and the mindset to lead lives of purpose.

Mission

What we do

We mentor boys and young men who are growing up without a father at home. Programming covers leadership, social skills, financial literacy, literacy, health, career exposure, and service — with a dedicated circle for the mothers raising them.

The vision is simple: young men who have experienced fatherlessness leave our programs equipped to live healthy, fulfilling lives as they step into manhood.

Wake County Human Services has recognized the foundation for work on the social and emotional competence of children. Since inception, approximately 2,500 partners, donors, boys, and moms have been part of the work.
